For David Legg

I was stationed in Bad Aibling '68 to '70 and fished the stream on post plus the Traun River and the Red Traun. The Army Rec Area at Chimsee controlled a few klics of the stream. Both the on Post stream and the Red Traun turned out 24" Browns with some regularity.

15 years. 99.9999% of the flies I've tied have been for trout. The usual, dries, wet/nymphs and streamers. I got a wild hair once and built 4 fairly large saltwater/salmon flies that were never fished. Maybe someday.

Received my first vice for my 14th birthday in 1970. Hank Robert's Company (Denver, CO) fly tying kit. I know I said "thank you" back then but "thank you" again, mom and dad.

Maybe 1 month... it's addicting and the wife is already cursing my fly fishing habit that also started this year... common phrase in my house, "put the hooks down and step away from the table"... :D

Huh.....I just realized that I havent even been tying for 2 full years yet, I joined this site a couple months after I started tying. Wow seems like it has been much much longer then that, maybe its cause I should have been tying for a lot longer then that.

Got my first kit oh about 2 years ago, when I first started fly fishing also, I went to a local sport shop called Ray's sport shop. And I was really doubting starting fly fishing, then the one man said never give it up, and I dint and man it's been so much fun, he also gave me a discount on a tying kit, a Jack Dennis fly tying video. Now I know of the beat sport and hobby out there and will never give it up. My first fly was the Suwn Juan Worm, and caught 50+ bluegill on it. Best time ever, catching fish on something out of your own creation.
