A little OT

Recommended Posts

I know you arent supposed to post this here but I have never managed to catch one of these let alone two in one morning. Maryland does not stock this fish in its trout streams so it was something new for me. I wanted to share and see if anyone else has managed to catch one. It is a tiger trout which is a cross between a male brook trout and a female brown trout. Again, something new and I wanted to share.

they probably are reproducing naturally

my grandpas lake quit stocking tiger musky over twenty years ago but you still catch babys

not sure if this is accurate but i read tiger trout were sterile hybrids? it was an article years ago about why they were being allowed to be introduced to UK rivers. we really dont like introducing aliens anymore not after the mink and squirrels we got from accross the pond, which is why there's no bass in the uk but the rest of europe is full of them

Bad Fish Rising - Hybrids do not reproduce naturally.

There must be Pike and Muskey all ready in the lake for the to tiger to be in there.

Oh ya telling by the pic it is a female.

congratulations! those are neat looking trout, and it seems to me, that they fight harder than most trout. i caught a few on the savage river. the first time i hooked one i didn't know what it was or whether i should even touch it. ha! ha! my buddy who fished the savage routinely came down and identified it for me.
