Guest Report post Posted October 21, 2004 It would be great to get some grade "A" Jungle Cock, but it's much cheaper and easier to get "B" and "C". The drawback is sometimes a lighter color, almost always more split "nails". You can do a quick fix by applying just a dab of flexible head cement and stroking it smooth with your fingertips. Voila! A good nail!
Sean Juan 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Flatwing tiers back the split feathers with a touch of wax to hold them together until they are tied in. Great natural material - wish I could get one as a pet.
Guest Report post Posted October 21, 2004 Great tips. Yeah, we used the nailpolish technique to fix the splits. Similar to above, just using NP.
Guest Report post Posted October 22, 2004 Way back in the last century, before I was allowed to play with cosmetics I received training in the fine art of using petroleum diluted paraffin, as well as good old-fashioned shellac, to repair JC nails. I'm not sure either was any easier than ironing them back together with wax paper (neither of which holds forever) Thinned nail polish or head cement is my choice of weapon today.
