Balsa frog

Recommended Posts

Wow, looks great. You carved it yourself from balsa? Looks like you had a top and bottom section that you glued together with the hook between? Good luck.

Now that IS a different take on a common theme.

Hope it works well for you. Please let us know how it casts and fishes.

Lately I have been fishing with a 13' jig (or cane) pole.

I have about 9' of fly line and 4' of leader. I do a lot of

wadeing, and fishing from a canoe, so if I have room I

cast out the 26'-28' or so, If not I reach out and set it

down in the holes in the grass or pads. I would think it

would be like casting a hair bug on a flyrod(something

I don't get out to far anyway LOL)

Two pices of 3/8 square balsa glued side by side

cut a V in back sand to shape cut groove in bottom

for hook (like cork poppers) paint and seal. Takes

maby a sixpack
