Mr. Vegas 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 I just want to personally thank this forum for all its help!!! As a lot of you know I started tying as therapy for my shakes. I broke my vise several weeks ago and was tying on a small vise from the fifties. I am still rather young at 29 and had to retire due to several illnesses. I am on a very very strict budget due to medical bills. About a dozen members got together and got me a new vise and some tools as a gift to me!! It is a HMH Standard!!! Most people that helped wanted to be anonymous and I completely respect that!! Who helped will know who they are. I also got a dvd and some sweet flies, plus an adjustable bobbin and some tungsten dr. slick scissors which I really needed!! I just want to say THANK YOU!! You guys will never know how happy you have made me and how amazing the members of this forum are. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! Without this hobby or addiction I would not be health wise in the place I am now

Bryan Wright 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 This forum is amazing and I didn't even know they were doing that. What a great bunch of guys. Good luck with your health. I know how hard that can be. I am dealing with some stuff as well. My doctors don't know what is going on with me they are pretty sure it is some sort of auto imune disease they think it might be Sjogren's Disease but so far the test haven't shown the markers for that. Anyways good luck and if you ever need to talk let me know.

tonysurface 0 Report post Posted December 22, 2010 That's great. What do you think of the Stonfo bobbin? I just got one a few days ago and really like it. I normally use Tiemco ceramics but I do like the weight and feel of the Stonfo. Merry Christmas and enjoy your tying.

But it does break thread if it is set to tight. I wish the tip was something more gentle like ceramic. But Hands down easier to tie with. I would buy it again and will buy it again. I cant stand my wishbone bobbins any more they are so hard to tie with now.

My uncle had sjogrens which he named dry mouth disease and I can understand what you are going through! My body is sending signals that my liver and stomach are foreign and as a natural process trying to right it but instead breaking it down. I was 2 months premature so a lot of my internals did not form naturally so I have been sick with something or another my whole life. But it is the only thing I know so seems normal to me. Wow.. this made me happy to read. Such a warm good will Thanks I am so glad I found everyone here Helluva forum with a helluva lot o' nice people on it! I would say!!
