Monquarter 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2011 Originally a featherwing streamer, here is a converted hairwing. A salmon guide I know uses this fly from spring through fall. I used white polar bear (note the sparkle in the wing and I used no flash) and I added a few strands of pearl krystal flash, not that it needed it. Comments, critiques or questions, fire away! Monquarter 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 That's a beautiful fly. Where are you going to fish it? I generally fish in Atlantic Canadian waters, the Miramichi drainage being the main system I get to fish. I hope to fish in Nova Scotia in 2011 and I have fished in the Gaspe. HITCHER 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2011 This fly(especially tied with the PB) is very productive for me in low light conditions in Gaspe & Quebec north shore salar rivers. I also get good results with landlocks. Tying classic patterns in differrent color PB, inmo adds a more attractive aspect to these fish. Thanks for posting.
