In my opinion dubbing would be better than thread for a dry fly as big as #14. What are you using for the post?

Flytier14 has given us his recipe for The Gray Wonder:

hook: #14

tail: gray hackle fibers

abdomen: gray dubbing

hackle: grizzly tyed parachute on a rusty antron post

thorax: gray dubbing

reactionhit, you are now up to bat. (But be careful not to get impaled on that rusty post!) Once you have decided how you want to change Flytier's Wonder let us know what you will be tying.

Your fly's name has been noted. Are you sure he can live up to it?

I like the way this swap has gone so far and will seriously consider hosting a sequel. Your pre-I'm-In has also been noted.

Sorry Blue that I didn't respond in time.

I got two problems now, firstly I don't know how to make a decent picture and how to post it and secondly I allready sent the bunch to the swapmeister. Basicly they are small gray nymphs with a tiny piece off eel skin as wing cover.

You could indeed substitute this eel skin for any other wing cover, as you allready did.

When wet the eel skin softenes up and smells a little bit fishy, in my imagination that would be extra attractive to fish.

Probably because of my age, but I remember when "eel skin" was a slang term for a certain item of birth control. Pink ones make a great worm fly.

Nowadays eel skin comes in strawberry taste!

:D
