Sorry to hear that. About this time last year I watched my grandpa slowly lose the battle against cancer. It's not pretty, and it changed me. That's for sure. But, time heals all wounds. Every new day is a little bit easier. Prayers sent my friend. Take care.

thank you all...he told me (in the last words i'll hear from him since they just put him on morphine) I had told him that I was catching some fish with the fly rod he gave me. (the only rod I have) and he says "good....I was gonna go fishing this weekend..." and then he fell asleep...I know that he won't be...he's never gonna leave that hospital room...the doctors say that it's only a matter of time now... I don't even know what to say..

Dear Mark,

There is nothing to say. Just know that each time you fish he will be there with you. My heart goes out to you. My grandfather taught me to fish and was probably the closest friend I ever had. I said goodbye to him in a hospital room under very similar circumstances almost 15 years ago. I still feel him with me every time I wet a line. You have all of our prayers for you and your family.
