Large mouth bass hooks

Recommended Posts

I use Mustad hooks for a lot of my flies. I tie a lot of streamers on 3366's, and like the C52S for some of my bass bugs. I also like the Gamakatsu Wide Gap Finesse hooks for some streamers and have had good success with those hooks. They are a really short shank, super sharp hook, very tough for bass to throw.

I agree with DaCream, I love the 3366's they are great hooks. I use to use Tiemco 8089, i got a bunch of them for cheap on Ebay, once i ran out of those they were too expensive for me to buy so i went with 3366's.

useing Tiemco 5262,5263 in #2's and #4's for all of my bass bugs. Just seeing what you guys are useing.I like the Tiemco hooks, its the onely I have used,Its the brand of hook I started on,and never changed. I am looking for a hook with a bigger gap, mabey even some bigger hooks.

All of the ones previously mentioned are good choices. I have a supply of the old Mustad hooks which are identical to the B10S and 8089 style hooks, and the Mustad signature bass bug hook C52S, Black Nickel is a GREAT bass bug hook and great streamer hook too. 3366 can be had all the way up to at least 3/0, and is fairly inexpensive but a super all-around hook. I use lots and lots of them.

This is very true, at some places you can find them $5 for 100 hooks. That is good to me.
