Easy Sculpin Pattern

Hi. I'm looking for an easy sculpin pattern that doesn't use deer hair for the head. I checked our site, but couldn't find what I wanted.

try any pattern that uses deer hair head and sub wool or congo hair

Ram's Wool makes a nice head and is easy to work with. Rabbit strip is an easy way for body.

Featherhead (my take on the Marion Sculpin)

 

Knucklehead (same fly as the Featherhead, turned into a lead-head jig)

 

Pig sticker (end-to-end flexibility achieved by tying on a snelled hook)

Just use the wound hackle (cheap strung hackle, or hen hackle,) you can even clip the top and bottom to get a flatter wider head shape.

Here's one made with hour glass/dumbell lead eyes, craftfur dubbed head, and rooster hackle w/feather side fins and tail... Later DL
