Olefish 0 Report post Posted September 23, 2011 Olefish here,,, I tied the Tarcher Nymph I got it from the book Good Flies by John Gierach. John got it from the inventor Ken Iwamasa, and the story on it, along with tying directions, is in his book Iwamasa Flies, published in 1988. He designed it to copy mayfly nymphs that would "arch their abdomens into a scorpion-like position" when they were dislodged from the bottom and would drift along in the current. I use peacock for the body the recipe calls for dark hare's ear dabbing. ps flies in the mail your Olefish 12 tyers inc myself due date 15th Oct these will be mailed to me in Windsor Canada, so please include $2 US for return mail. I will cross the border and mail from Detroit. If flies are not rec'd by due date I will mail without yours or everyone will have to wait until I return from a trip to the UK, I will communicate with you all nearer the time. 1 Me 2 Beginnerflytyer 3 Bluegill576 4 Mybadhabit 5 Ikerajala 6 Margaretann 7 Forrest 8 Professori 9 SJO 10 olefish 11 sfontinalis 12 flytyer 13 lycoss33 14 avril

flytire 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2011 i no longer rely on the tacky strip use to seal the mailing envelopes. i seal all 4 sides and the closure flap with some clear packaging tape. at least it makes it harder for the postal thief to get into the envelope.
