Guest Report post Posted November 6, 2003 Just ran across this while doing a little surfing and thought I would pass it on. Basically when you tie in wings and hackle sometimes that kind of stuff gets in the way when trying to tie in other materials and buiding the head on your fly. The trick is to take a drinking straw and cut a slit in it and slide it over the wing and it will fold the wing down and keep it out of your way until your done doing what your doing and then you can just slide it off. Here's a pic
Guest Report post Posted November 7, 2003 great tip indeed, Will. Coffee stirrers work well for tiny patterns and for keeping tailing fibers out of the way as well!
