Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2011 It's finally here!!!!!!! I retired today. No more 30 mile drives thru the snow to get to work. No more deadlines to get that next job out the door. No more thankless customers who don't realize it's THEIR product variations that has caused the project to be late. It's now MY time. To sleep as late as I want. To go fishing when I want. To go hunting when I want. To spend weekends with my grandchildren when I want. To watch & enjoy the sunsets every night without worrying about what the next day at work will bring. Yep, I'm enjoying it right now!!

Catalpa_Joe 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2011 Thanks EF. Luck had nothing to do with it. I didn't say I won the lottery. Hard work & a frugal lifestyle did it for me.

Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted October 14, 2011 Congratulations! I have one more year to go, gonna be a looonnngggg year. My wife will be working a few more years, but I won't have to put up with deadlines / change orders / fixing our outside vendor's mistakes, and all the rest. I've been telling my wife for years that if she got 2 or 3 part time jobs, I might be able to retire a lot sooner. She hasn't been real receptive to the idea, so I still have another year to go. Enjoy yourself.

Body wise I'm ready, Pocket now thats funny.I'm looking forward to spending more time with my fly rod. Good luck and have fun. Kevin
