Landed this one today, atlantic Released shortly after to fight another day. Was about -4 c mid-day cloudy conditions with no sun, 8-12 ft deep and crystal clear water. Water flows also seemed higher than usual. This is my first ever atlantic and im very proud, amazing fight and amazing fish, so much power in these fish. not to mention battled on Feb 19th in the midst of a blistering winter hahaha just kidding its been mild!

post-30681-0-16689000-1326312152_thumb.jpgThis fish is the result of being stood up by a client this week. If you ever wondered what guides do when they get stood up, we go catch the fish you would have caught had you been there! Sorry Monday client, this could have been yours on an 8wt if you hadn't missed your alarm clock.

Nice fish Druce! And my word it looks cold up there, actually flying back into the t-dot tonight and now considering packing a sweater as i am going to be walking from 35-40C to ungodly C in shorts and flip flops. Looking forward to steelhead and bench time.

Hey dude, Any egg fly will do, infact we use dollar store pompoms they are about the diameter of a dime and bright orange i like to think they look like roe bags i just slip it onto the hook eye and use raven #8 hooks. Bait fishing is sweet now too for them! but i will keep that to myself befor i get a hard time....sometimes a students gotta eat you know!

Went to the Fly Fishing Film Tour last night in Nashville. Got so jacked watching all the fish porn I decided to hit the lake after with one of my buddies, had a morning without a charter. Fish started eating at about 1:00am and grubbed for about three hours. Intermediate line, 8wt on sparsely tied four inch clousers. These are hybrid bass, our stripers are still spawning and won't be ready to fish for another week or so. I'll have bigger fish pics for you guys in the coming weeks.
