fshng2 0 Report post Posted July 17, 2017 Gotta love chironomids. Amazing that a trout that big would bother with such a small meal.

TerryMH 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 Gotta love chironomids.Amazing that a trout that big would bother with such a small meal. It's always puzzled me too, but on still water, my largest trout are usually caught with chironomids.
Sight Cast 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 Hooked up with some baby Tarpon last weekend. They are a blast! Caught two on this purple streamer I tied up.
Mike West 0 Report post Posted July 18, 2017 All my large trout have been caught on streamers but I've caught numerous big LMB (5-12lb)on some tiny stuff trying to catch Bream/Crappie after giving up on trying to catch Bass cause they just weren't bitting on my normal offerings.. No scientific proof but I'm a firm believer all fish grow up eating tiny things and recognize them as a food source. Drop it In front of their face and antimate it so it looks crippled or wounded and they will eat it. I'm really fond of the cigarette/beer retrieve....3 of my biggest bass have come from tossing to a weed line then setting the rod down to light a cig or grab a beer out of the cooler.
