mikechell 0 Report post Posted October 23, 2017 Got out for a few hours this morning. Lake Talmadge, near Deland. Boat ramps on the St. Johns River are closed (mostly) due to high water levels. Went to this small lake. Not a bad place to fish, just seems to have low populations ... can't catch a lot.

xterrabill 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2017 I caught 2 more today!! for a total of 3 in a couple days. brined, smoked 2 hours cold @ 52 deg, 35 min hot smoke to internal temp of 155, and in the fridge. (much better cold the next day) this rainbow put up a great fight, pulled out line (got to use the drag) and it jumped at least 3 times. I thank all of you fine folks on this site for the encouragement to pursue the art of fly tying, you guys are awesome. Peace XterraBill
