I was surprised there were so many in that little pool. I never fish it, usually staying above the dam. There must be a few bigger ones hiding in the back weed line, but I couldn't reach it as casting was limited to rolling, as behind and above me were trees, brush, and the embankment. A longer rod next time will help.

Li'lDave 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2023 Had a trip to Tasmania recently.... fished some beautiful country for wild browns and rainbows. (Trout were introduced to Tasmanian creeks and rivers in the 1860s, and they have thrived). I'm sure there were other flies from the forum that caught, but this one was fooled by a hopper from a swap many years ago now.... Thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this community. Capt Bob LeMay 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2023 Small snook from a docklight earlier this week... on a 9wt rod using a small white fly... I've run two trips this week, one locally in Biscayne Bay at night, the second over at Flamingo in the day time (the southern center of Everglades National Park..) I'll be back there tomorrow, running an hour before sunup to hook up with a party that's camping out in the backcountry... This is the beginning of the time when I'll be on the water almost continuously... Anyone wanting a booking between now and June (when the rainy season gets going - and clouds of mosquitoes make the 'glades a tough place to fish...) needs to call sooner rather than later... niveker 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2023 A few small native jewels from one of my favorite little blue lines yesterday. Water was a bit higher than I had anticipated.

Guest Report post Posted April 9, 2023 DD and I made lil trip. Kinda bad conditions but we always have fun. Main problem was the 21,000 CF flow. They have only opened this many flood gates 3 times in the last 50 years. Current was 3.5 mph. Tough trying to fish and maneuver the boat. Had to cast to 3-4’ feet of the bank where the fish were. Lotta debris in the water as the big current was literally scouring the bottom.😏 DD tried hard running the boat some. Some places coulda been real dangerous. She is not ready for her “boat captain’s license” yet.😛😳. Bless her heart! We went down to DRC and I tied a bunch of flies on some for couple of boys to catch a few.
