DFoster 0 Report post Posted August 12 The remnants of Debbie came through here on Friday and the rain brought our rivers up nicely. I was able to get out for a few hours on a small trout brook. I hooked 8 with 3 making it to the net. Not big fish but they are wild.

DFoster 0 Report post Posted September 3 A couple that I caught on Saturday morning. I tried to get a better photo of the rainbow but she was having none of it, the brookie was a little more cooperative.
DFoster 0 Report post Posted October 21 Ok this lack of rain is really starting to ruin my Autumn fishing. My usual streams are not flowing and as a result the few pools remaining are chocked with fallen leaves. At least the leaves give the trout cover and the Blue Heron's are having to work for their meals. I went to a spring fed free stone on Saturday and even that was down to a trickle. I found a small pool with enough flow that it was clear of leaves and picked up these 2 wild browns, losing a 3rd. We really need some rain!
DFoster 0 Report post Posted October 28 I hit the trifecta yesterday- The Brookies and Browns are wild fish, the Rainbow is a left over from the spring stocking. The Bow grabbed a #12 Royal Charlie soft hackle. The other 4 on Matt’s Midge size 20. I had a sucker take a soft hackle which is rare at least around these parts. He gave a good account of himself though and I thought I had a Brown on. Full sun with temps were in the high 40’s. A brisk wind made casting a little tricky. It’s always nice to get on the stream for a few hours in the Autumn. We need rain here desperately.

Thanks Partsman- We seriously need rain here in Mass. This river is spring fed and because of that it still has minimal flow with some pools and areas that are mostly free of leaves. On Saturday I ran into 4 other fly fishermen who desperate for fishable water made long drives to get there. I usually have the place to myself at this time of year with most anglers putter their rods away in favor of their Bows. Sadly for those of us who love Autumn fly fishing on streams there are few to choose from right now.
