islander727 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 A 2 weight and happy bluegill was the theme for this morning. Got a fat little bass to take a #10 gurgler.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 10, 2015 MY kind of fishing, Islander.
islander727 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2015 MY kind of fishing, Islander. I know. As simple as it gets! Snuck out again today, with close to the same results! This guy took as soon as the fly hit the water!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 11, 2015 Pretty little Tilapia. I wish they were that eager to hit all the time. They put up a good fight, and are plenty tasty. But I only catch one here and there, I think by accident.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 Spent about half an hour on a little creek/bayou near the airport. The mosquitoes drove me out ... big as flies, hard like a beetle and swarming every time I stopped walking. Still, caught some nice fish on the Katydid. mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 12, 2015 LOL thanks. But I am off the swaps. Flies and bluegill ... I am all over that!!!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2015 Another fun evening on Turkey Creek. Not as many, and not as big as last night, but more variety.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Last evening on Turkey Creek. Although I don't go for the "micro-fishing" thing ... I don't mind an evening of small fish. I was still catching fish when the battery died on the camera.
Kentuckysteve 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Wow that creek is full of those little fish.I love it when the bite is that good.Sure makes for a fun day fishing. You caught a boat load of them in that video!
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2015 It WAS fun ... and I missed a hit or two for every one I hooked. It doesn't show well in the video, but I am just barely able to stand on the concrete, it's so steep. If I had started slipping, there'd have been no stopping 'til the water. I am pretty sure there are some bigger fish deeper, but the little ones won't let it drop through to them. I might go back there with the baitcaster and some large plastic stick baits, see if that'll get down through the little ones.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2015 Went on a boat today, with a good friend from way back. Fished Lake Houston tributaries and caught some really small bream. I hooked a bass about 2 pounds, but didn't have the camera on. After I turned it on, Ben caught his personal best bass (he doesn't fish for them much). So, no fly fishing, but a short little film with a nice little bass in it.
Kentuckysteve 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2015 Nice bass! Congrat's to Ben on the personal best.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2015 By the way ... sorry for the lousy noise on the boat ride. Since I usually don't "narrate" my videos ... I didn't even have the sound on when I was editing this one. If you haven't opened it yet, turn your volume down before you do.
mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2015 Another in the installment of small creek fishing north of Houston.
