TheCream 0 Report post Posted December 7, 2011 I decided to make an instructional video on making a basswood popper from scratch...then realized that I couldn't do it as 1 video. So here is Part I of III, Part II (painting/finishing) is nearly done, Part III (the actual tying portion) is filmed but not edited. Here is the final product: And here is Part I:

TheCream 0 Report post Posted December 8, 2011 GREAT vid! Waiting patiently....well waiting anyway, for part 2 & 3.. Technical issues are causing problems getting Part II up. Editing has been done since 9:30AM. That was 7 failed file export attempts ago. I'm about to go postal on my computer.

TheCream 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 Ahhhhh...Patience payed off! They are bookmarked for perusal at another time....not at midnight Actually I had to modify a few edits. I had some scenes 3X speed in Part II to speed it up, but the export kept crashing on one of the 3X scenes (not the same one each time). I backed it down to 2X and it worked the 1st attempt. Thanks for the compliments, folks!

tnfishdaddy 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2011 Saw these posted in a blog this morning and was inspired. Not sure I have the patience to make my own balsa bodies but figured I would give it a try. Couldn't find balsa wood big enough and got frustrated with the Christmas crowds. Did go by the fly shop and pick up some tying stuff and got some paint from the art store. Got everything but rubber legs (I forgot) and epoxy. I need to go back and rewatch to see what the glitter coat was called and try to find some. Great video. Thanks for posting it up.
