Horseshoes 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2012 ok I am going to try, as in attempt, ' Cased-Caddis Larva' I think it is an Oliver Edwards? Sounds right, I happen to have some elk hair from the sunny pacific and thought I would use it. A good try deserves a good product.

jburge 0 Report post Posted January 9, 2012 Ha! I'd say that's a "dream" local fly. I'm dreaming of summers in Idaho/Montana Do you fish Montana often? Not nearly as often as I'd like. My brother (he has a home in Livingston) and I like to do our "gonzo" tours. We drive to a location, set up our shuttle, fish and drift until dark, find any close place to throw out a sleeping bag, and repeat the process each day for at least a week. I've had the privilege of fishing the Beaverhead, Big Hole, Bitterroot, Ruby, and Yellowstone rivers so far. I'm counting the days until summer. Flew into Missoula. Stayed a week. Did a float trip down the Clark Fork one day with a guide from Grizzly Hackle, a couple days on the Big Hole, a couple days at a lake with grayling near Wisdom and a few days on Rocky Creek. I hope I get invited back again next year. I was amazing. Never been out west before.
