Tee Nootsie Brasseau 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2012 Hello all you. I just got a big chunk of balsa foam. It is dense and is the type 2. I see that the foam is supposed to take sealer and paint well. It cuts and sands easily but is a dense material. I think it is going to work like champ for popping bug bodies. My question is: Has anyone used this foam for popping bugs bodies and if so, how did it work. Hold paint well? Float high? hold hook well? Thanks I have a need to know this. TNoots b I use this type of foam a lot, There are many ways to use it. On the painting from you will need to seal it first before you paint or use markers. I use Delta sealant , You can get at Michaels, then I paint it after that is done I ad another coat of a Delta gloss sealant. I hope this helps. I have used the Delta Sealer before on cork and wood poppers. I like it and it does a good job. I also use the ceramcoat paints on them. I will try some out and see how they turn out. I like this foam because it works easily but is pretty firm. If it holds up well I am going to start using it for poppers and fade away from cork and wood. I like the closed cell foam too. I have cutters and I like to make bugs from it. Thanks for your info. It is pleasing to me. Tnoots

Laissez les bons temps rouler!! Henry F.
