Question About Yellowstone Regs and barbless hooks

Recommended Posts

If they tear your fly apart, how do they know if the underlying wire is lead or lead-free?

Exactly.

do they maybe have some sort of test thing that they could rub on it or something?

They were just checking to see if there was weight added as no weighted flies are allowed.

Were you fishing in Yellowstone National Park? I can't see anything about weighted flies not being allowed in the park, if they have no lead.

Which brings us full circle back to the test kit.

I have no idea what they do.
