TheCream 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2012 I tried this paint scheme out over the weekend, I really like the results. Ordinarily I just use a solid base coat of paint and stipple over that. For this one I did a base coat of metallic pearl, then a solid pink stripe down the sides and metallic "festive green" over the back. From there I stippled the edges of the solid paint lines to try to break them up a little. For finishing the fly, I kept it simple, with white/pink/olive bucktail, "mixed color" krystal flash, and a little ice chenille collar touched with markers. TheCream 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2012 They look great! Are they hand painted with a brush, or air brush? I brush the bodies, then do the stippling with small round objects dipped in paint. For this one they ranged in size from an eye drop cap (eyes) to a blunt-pointed needle. No air brush!

Sure to bust the big bass and the browns! Browns like that top water action, too, ya know!
