Guest Report post Posted August 6, 2003 This one comes to us from our own SmallieHunter, who if he could actually catch fish, would be called SmallieCatcher, but I digress. If you are having trouble sinking your flies when you first tie on, try this simple trick. Carry a ziploc baggie with you. Before you tie on that fly, add some water to the baggie, place the fly in the water, and let it sit for a few minutes. The "presoaking" helps to saturate the fly and enables it to get down on the first cast. Good tip, Smalliehunter. I just couldn't resist the jab...sorry, bud.
