firedad 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2012 What's up Alan! Welcome to the forum. There's lots of good information here and everyone's very generous, If you have questions you've come to the right place. Also check out the Fly Tying Database, it's full patterns done by our members. When you get the chance (if you want) you can add your own submissions to the database. Your living in a great place for fly fishing. I'm just south east of you in Reno, NV. Are you new to fly fishing and/or fly tying, or just to the forum? jburge 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2012 Glad you're online Alan. I was just up in your neck of the woods fishing the lower Sac at the beginning of the month. Did a drift starting at Posse Grounds and had a ball. Being a bit south of you (Sacto) you're much closer to some of the finest waters I like to fish--Lower Sac, Upper Sac, and the McCloud. You'll learn a lot here, and find some outstanding teachers, swappers, and fly tiers. John

I guided on the stretch for about 5 years now I pretty much stick to the Upper Sac & McCloud. Yes I am very lucky where I live I can get home from work and be on Clear Creek within 15 min rod in hand!
