utyer 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Wavey, When you get some more deer hair, here is a little suggestion. When your tying deer hair collars, tie the deer hair in with the tips of the hair forming the collar. Yours both have the butt sections extended back as the collars. I think you will like the way the collar flairs and blends into the pattern that way. On the other bunches, you can trim off the tips before you tie them in. Your shaping and trimming look good, as does the rest of the pattern. Here is my lastest effort, not a deer hair bug at all, but a turkey tail nymph:

FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Bad photo, but just doing up a bunch of Pink Comet flies for later in the year out west. Put a bit of leadfree wire on the small beadchain ones so they ride properly. Lykos33, i like your studdler, put a marabou tail on it and it will be a wooley studdler

Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2012 I tied a similar fly with blue body and silver rib with marabou tail for sea trout on the top. They make a great wake in #8 and #4!

Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2012 LIL' B/O Flasher...TMC 100 SP BL, #18... PT/TB you'll have to post the materials for that one. Very appetising. Is that marabou or CDC as a collar.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2012 My two flies for the April and May 2012 swap club. The first uses a peach dubbing with a very sparse UV orange flash rib. Good for bright days when the fish want toned down. Second a crippled mayfly. Bob Quigley inspired. ok how do I post the attachment so its bigger on the actual post? FlyFishin'Jam 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2012 Ahh Piker20, i think you mean so it is not attached as a thumbnail and just an image on the page (full size)? 1. Upload your images to a free site like photobucket (http://photobucket.com/) after resizing to 640 x480 (this is a pretty standard size for web) 2. Use the IMG tags here, or photobucket in the bottom right hand corner offers a direct IMG link which you will 'copy', then paste in here...Voila!
