Nick Williams 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2012 Does anyone have/use waterproof markers from craft stores to color say popper bodies? I know they're are sets in catalogs and such, but I'm curious as to whether I can save a buck or two looking elsewhere.
Gene L 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2012 I have, but they don't look right to me. I prefer lacquer with a clear coat (or 20 min. epoxy) on top. I know people who don't color poppers at all, and think that's fine, but when I make poppers, I enjoy painting them. Model car paint works really well. flytire 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2012 when there is a 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 sale at michaels craft store thats the time to buy acrylic paints. 33 cents a bottle sure beats $1+ for markers

Painting poppers can almost become an addiction on its own. I'll have to see if my kids nursery could set them all up like a mini production line, Oh wait thats what the chinese do.... Nick Williams 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2012 Well that price for acrylic paint sounds awesome! And I don't mind getting into using paint, but I guess markers just sound a lot simpler and cleaner to use? Maybe I should give paint a try, just looking for other ideas though. No matter what way I choose to go coloring they will all have a nice clear coat over them.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2012 Yeah don't spill acrylic on anything you want unspoilt as it don't wash out all that well but then permanent marker shouldn't either.
