Fred H. 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 My link It looks like a any number of salt forage fish . Similar to a silverside in size and appearance. It could be an anchovy. If so, here is a pattern I did a while back that you could adapt to fit this species.

JSzymczyk 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 very cool, I don't believe I've ever seen one of those. You would do very well to imitate that with an olive over white bucktail with pearl krystal flash.
sandflyx 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 there are a lot of different bait fish in that chart...really cool, like the rainbow shiner..

Peterjay 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2012 Coelacanth! Steve, remind me to pass along my recipe for deep-fried coelacanth. I haven't used it much lately, since the required plesiosaurus grease has been hard to come by in these parts for some time. My first thought when I saw that minnow was Atlantic silversides, which is obviously not the case. Regardless, based on appearance, any silversides imitation that the salt water guys use would duplicate the minnow perfectly, especially slim "bonito deceivers." Here's a link - I usually tie them with olive hackles/holographic silver flash tail, a holographic silver body, and just a pinch of olive hair on top and a pinch of white underneath. A long slim head with stick-on eyes. It's a dead ringer for your minnow - I've caught a lot of albacore on this fly, and I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work in your situation. http://www.saltwaterflies.com/deceiverslim.html
