I'm doing a catalpa worm

Riff, are you doing the pattern from "blugill fly fishing and flies"?? Just curious, as this is the only one I have seen....

Fshrman's flies arrive today & WOW! These are some great looking flies. A really cool hopper pattern. You're all going to love this one.

Take care

In the mail today. I tied a simple CDC and foam ant that has worked well for me:

Hook: #12 dry fly

Thread: black Uni 8/0

Body: black craft foam

Underbody and Legs: black CDC

I have 3 sets of flies to acknowledge today, and two of them are ant patterns. Both are wonderful ties! First, Dreamcaster has tied some great looking foam ants with just the right amount of sparkle to them. They are REALLY going to ring the old dinner bell for Mr Bluegill! Then FrequentTyer has submitted some CDC & Foam ants that the 'gills are going to find irresistable!. Great job, FT! And finally, Riff has sent in some Catalpa Worms that look like they just fell off the tree. They are a little smaller than the real thing, but just the right size to tempt a big old Bluegill. Great ties, everyone.
