Now after 20" of snow, the 30-40 mph winds are moving in and tonight the minus 10-15 deg. temp.s.........I'm glad i paid my heating bills!!! Sounds like i will get some tying time in this weekend..... Merry Xmas everyone! mike
Guest Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Same to you, Mike You guys sure got hammered. Kingfisher is working down there. It took him 3 hours to drive to Dayton from Lima yesterday morning. I bet it's a real mess today. The timing is pretty good though. I need to drive South tomorrow afternoon. I hope they have cleaned up by then.

Guest Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Good luck tomorrow Shoe. We only got about 8 inches of snow here in Cincy but then it dumped 4 inches of ice on top of that. I have never seen the roads in worse shape. I believe it was 75 south going into Kentucky that was backed up from midnight til 9 this morning, nobody moved an inch do to a pile up of semis. With the temps going down to zero tonight that ice ain't going anywhere.
Guest Report post Posted December 23, 2004 I have a nephew in Ohio trying to find a flight to Colorado. He was supposed to be here tonight. But that ain't happenin. Hopefully he can make it tomorrow sometime. Jim
Guest Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Rarely ever have white Xmas's here. Think maybe 2-3 that I can recall in 35 years. Foothills get them, but down here at sealevel next to saltwater, we don't get many.
Lance Kekel 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2004 Sounds like we faired pretty well out of it. Up here in Akron we've got about left 8" on the ground after the rain and freezing rain got through with it. We only had about 1/4" of freezing rain, the rest was just plain rain. I've only lost 1 tree limb so far but I had to break the shop vac out in a couple corners of the basement today. I know it was much worse in other areas near here though, the drive home from work at 12:00 AM down 271 from east side cleveland was more than a bit of an adventure! Guest Report post Posted December 23, 2004 We have about 10 inch to a foot (guess we missed the major snow) OSD.
Sippy 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Our friend left MI for Florida yesterday just after noon. I talked to him at 7:00 pm and he was still in Ohio, cruising at about 30 mph in some nasty weather. I'd guess we got about 8-10" around here. It's kinda hard to judge since it's blown around so much. There's a two track down our road through the drifts. The sky is perfectly clear out now with the moon lighting up the scenery. It's actually very beautiful. Good night to get out the telescope! Shoe, hope you guys have a safe drive down and are greeted with some balmy weather. We'll be thinking of you guys as we sit in our shanty on a slab of ice.

tightlines 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 I dont think we got hammered to bad up here compared to other times. Its alot of snow out there and I couldnt make it to work because the truck refused to climb up a hill (have to put some patio stones in the back of the bed). I know that at work we were operating with a 20% staff, so many others couldnt make it. I went for a walk to the store and Im right downtown and as I am crossing the road I take a huge spill infront of what seemed like 100s of people, never got up so quickly and kept walking.
