CraigCas 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2012 I like to use old fabric softener sheets to wipe down my stacker and all my fly tying gear. It reduces the static and keeps the stacker working well and prevents material sticking to everything. I have two stackers; I find most anything works well. perchjerker 0 Report post Posted July 8, 2012 If my memory does not fail me, the "shoe horn" stacker (S&M's 'hair evener'), was originally designed by Dan Bailey for his personal use in his open 'tying area' in his shop in Livingston, Mt. He reportedly sat on the floor in the middle of the room and personally selected, cut, and stacked the hair for all of his lady tiers when they were tying flies that needed stacked hair. This device enabled him to stack large bunches of hair at a time. Frank
DoctorD 0 Report post Posted July 9, 2012 My first stacker was a .357 mag case. It worked just fine.
