C LeBo 0 Report post Posted August 21, 2012 Aftera fairly long hiatus, I am trying to get back into tying and fishing "traditional" dries. But I am now armed with a new material, Pheasant Neck feathers! I used the white, fluffy feathers from the neck of the Ringneck Pheasant as a winging material. Enjoy! Thank You and Tight Lines, Carson LeBoeuf

C LeBo 0 Report post Posted August 22, 2012 Glad you guys like em. Just a tip though, don't try to tie in the feathers individually. Group two or three together and tie them as you would kip tail and just fork it. I just need to get out and see how it holds to a few fish...
michiganborn 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Nice flies. They're essentially fan-wings, but a bit less refined, which is good. I like the pattern.
streamcaddis 0 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Great tie. When I tie my dries I clip the bottom flush with the barb of the hook. The fly lays lower in the film and doesn't tip over...
