troutguy 0 Report post Posted November 13, 2012 Went fishing on the Catawba River below Lake James. A great tailwater fishing in NC. There are a lot of downed trees. Big trees! Anyone's dog can go fishing, but how many climb trees? Caught some nice fish and lost a huge one.

troutguy 0 Report post Posted November 14, 2012 I have never encouraged my dog to tree climb. Squirrels freak out when the run up a leaning pine and the dog goes right up after them.

PT/TB Have fun on the Lower Owens. I have been fishing it constantly with great success. A little insider info, they aren't letting any water out of the power plant and it's at about 100 cfs or less. The fishing between the plant, and the res is awesome right now! It's also a great place to take your dog.
Phish 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2012 I actually prefer the company of my Choc. lab over the ones whom complain about my dog on the waters. If you have a problem with it then I tell you to move on and find your place to fish or else.;-) My dog has as much rights to enjoy being in the waters as much as you which unfortantly have less manners in the beginwith then my dog. My lab has never interferred with someone else fishing unlike a bunch elitest snobs hogging the waters like they freakin own it! Pathetic basturds! DryFlies4Life 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 I fished with my dog, Masie, a Brittany / Springer cross fishing almost everyday of the summer and had no problems. being a bird dog she was quite content galivanting through the bushes chasing birds while fished. the only problems i ever had was when she saw a bird on the other side of the river, and decided to cross the river right where i was fishing. This would end up with her disturbing the whole pool, me having to swim across the river to get her, and a "bad dog".
