switch10 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2012 Cool idea for a thread! I have inherited many people's collections over the years. I pulled these out of my fly tying material stock pile. These are mostly size 12 dry fly hooks. Each box has 100 hooks in it. There is a price tag on the outside of one of the boxes that says "30 cents per dozen". The guy who gave me these, gave me about 4,000 of them. These are the ones that wouldn't fit at my desk! An entire golden pheasant. The price tag says $2.45 on sale from $2.99 I have about 30 spools of this black thread. Still works great! Some lead wire, and some old orvis strike indicators. ditz2 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2012 Planetrout...I still have one of those SA System reels made by Hardy. It was the biggest model they made. A system 11. SA was owned by 3M at the time I worked for them at the time. I believe it was bought in the early to mid 7o's. It was my first step up reel from a Pflueger Medalist. I still use them both. The marabou (on left) is from their original location in Independence, Iowa and the other from their current Arkansas location. 7) Hackle from Hank Roberts.
