switch10 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2012 whats the "standard price"? http://www.canadianllama.com/eyes-beads-cones/tungsten-beads I only buy my beads from this guy. http://www.flysite.co.nz/store/7/Tungsten-Products He's in NZ, but his prices can't be beat, even when you factor in shipping. His prices are in NZ dollars. He also sells on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tungsten-Fly-Tying-Beads-100-size-3-0-mm-7-64-/180491224350?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a061d851e
mybadhabit 0 Report post Posted November 2, 2012 flyfisharkansas.com That's a fly shop in Bull Shoals AR. The owner Jim is a great guy and sells Tungsten beads at super cheap rates. The phone # is 870-445-3848. Blane
JohnP 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2012 Or you could use the "poor man's tungsten bead" approach. Use a regular bead, then twist on some small-diameter lead or lead-substitute wire right behind the bead and shove it into the larger hole, thus jamming the bead in place and adding to its weight. Bazooka Joe 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2012 Has anybody used the Tungsten beads from www.riplipsfishing.com, I wonder if they are good quality. Along the same lines here is a supplier for brass beads, I have used him and the quality is as good as buying them in the retial shops http://www.wholesaleflycompany.com/

That's my method also,I use 0.015" lead wire behind the bead for PT's, Princes, Hares ear, etc. etc. Bill
BrookTroutAngler 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2012 I get most of my beads from here: http://www.allenflyfishing.com/tungsten-ball-beads/ That is the normal price, I have not seen it go off of sale. Lots of sizes and they usually have a few more colors than that. For 100 beads that would be around $15, but shipping is free.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2012 I've been happy with Allens beads, I've also used beads from http://www.tungsten-beads-plus.com/ which are UK based. Good resource for UK members, not sure they would be cheaper State side. Good source of synthetic flash at the moment only 75p.

Phish 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2013 I get all my beads, dumbell eyes and coneheads from canadianllamas.com cause they reasonable but their quality is 2nd to none. Great people to so you not helping the bigger companies to making a huge profit off you.
BassMouth87 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2013 I also use canadianllamas.com and have not had a single issue with any of the products I have purchased from them. What they charge for 100 beads or cones is what you would normally get 25 beads for at the fly fishing stores. They are friendly, have great customer service and usually answer emails within a few hours, not to mention that they usually toss in a few freebies of other items they offer so you can try new things. Top notch company that has my business for beads and cones for years to come.
