Fred H. 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2012 There are over a 1000 different sub species of mysis shrimp across the continent. Some probably make up part of the food chain where you fish. This one is a size #18 and I 've tied a piece of ginger spanflex into the carapace to mimic the ones I see locally . What size and color do you have where you fish? mikechell 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2012 I don't know what species, we just call them grass shrimp. Maximum size is about 1.5 inches.
Piker20 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2012 Ginger and a dirty olive would match my local. Now can you provide a recipe or sbs. Is it UV resin or plastic wrapped round for the body?

Piker , this is tied on a size #18 hook . The thread used was 4M mono . I used 6lb mono for the body and a piece of ginger spanflex for a little color. I covered it with UV flex . Fred H. 0 Report post Posted November 16, 2012 Thanks Mike kind of you to say. Piker , mono has become one of my favorite materials . It's inexpensive , locally available and comes in a variety of thicknesses. Also it's durable and translucent. Fred
