Mysis Shrimp

Recommended Posts

There are over a 1000 different sub species of mysis shrimp across the continent. Some probably make up part of the food chain where you fish. This one is a size #18 and I 've tied a piece of ginger spanflex into the carapace to mimic the ones I see locally . What size and color do you have where you fish?post-11886-0-27934800-1352983586_thumb.jpg

Ginger and a dirty olive would match my local. Now can you provide a recipe or sbs. Is it UV resin or plastic wrapped round for the body?

Piker , this is tied on a size #18 hook . The thread used was 4M mono . I used 6lb mono for the body and a piece of ginger spanflex for a little color. I covered it with UV flex .

Great flies. I'll have to have a go at those. I always forget the mono as a material and I have tons lying about.

Thanks Mike kind of you to say.

Piker , mono has become one of my favorite materials . It's inexpensive , locally available and comes in a variety of thicknesses. Also it's durable and translucent.
