DECEMBER flies

Recommended Posts

TransparANT and AttractANT bodies. All they need is a turn or two of hackle.

I have Harrison Steeve's book Fly Tying With Foam, Fur, and Feathers and have been thinking I need to tie some of those up!

Nice spider there, do I detect the influence of Hans W. in it? I'm sure he'll be flattered.

Cheers,

C.

Hans is my hero :D . I frequent another forum (Flymphforum) that he is very active in. He's got a bunch of videos on YouTube that are fascinating to watch. Hans ties are always very clean and crisp. Take a look at some of the videos, linked from his web site - fantastic.

BTA, I like to tie a half dozen or so bodies at a time and then put them on the cork to apply the 5min epoxy. The cork has a pin in the opposite end that is held in the jaws of the rotary vise. A manual rotary drying wheel, of sorts. It's much more efficient to epoxy several bodies at once.

rolsen, great tie. and did you create the pattern in your picture? a stunning improvement...

Thanks!

The pink one is my own creation, just got some decent goose feathers in 7 colors..have to make some use of them.

The avatar-picture is a variant of Muddler Minnow with Fish Skull -head.
