Lake and Stream Flies

Here is a pattern i came up with.

this box is for a friend who uses these

flies while fishing in lakes and streams.

she does very well with them.the fly

has been named by her as the taylor fly.

very simple fly to tie

 

tail-marabou/green or brown with 3-4 strands of kristal flash

body-peacock hurl

hackle-pheasant green or brown

collar-pheasant filoplume feather green or brown

My first impression was that it's a wooly bugger without the body hackle. Then I thought, now it looks like a damsel nymph. I think that that is its appeal. Now I can see that it has the form of a baitfish as well. It is a very nice looking fly!

With a bead head on it would be this that someone tied for me in a swap.

Looks great in the water. I'll follow that list and tie some up for myself.

I will have to try the "Taylor", looks to be a productive fly for the waters I will target most here abouts...
