Chefben4 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Ive been tying a lot of saltwater stuff lately so I decided to change it up a bit. This is a musky "baitfish" I tied for Musky in Lake St. Clair in Michigan. Tied on a 6/0 gama hook.

Chefben4 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 Thanks guys. PJ I think if I was offshore fishing with some full sink line I may be able to catch something on it! Would need a big mouth for that 6/0 gama hook!

Would need a big mouth for that 6/0 gama hook! They liveline good-sized spot for tarpon here - I don't know why a fly like that wouldn't work. Stripers would bang the heck out of it for sure. A lot of Bill Catherwood's legendary striper flies were tied on 5/0-7/0 hooks. Anyway, I hope to see some musky pix with that fly all shredded up. However, its not uncommon to catch musky while looking for pike Very Nicely Tied Fly Thanks!

Unfortunately, the way East Coast striper fishing has gone down the tubes in recent years, you'd be better off going to Tennessee and booking a trip with Nightheron. He gets some real monsters over there.
