shep 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Hi Everyone, This pattern is based on the Hammel's Killer pattern but I've ommited the hair underwing and added a mallard flank hackle throughout the body. The proportions may be a bit off. This vesion was tied fairly small (size 10) and I hope it will mimic either a XXL scud or a small molting crayfish. It might work in high water and might prove to be a good fall steelie pattern. I'm going to try tying a few more in the natural colours as well to try to fool some stillwater trout. Hope you like it. Cheers, Shep

fishyfranky 0 Report post Posted January 8, 2005 Nice tie. Good idea with the mallard flank and definitely a hot green trout pattern I've also got some pheasant rump that might make a good palmer on that pattern.
