Piker20 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2013 If you are tying them in by the butt and lying them along the shank cock feathers tend to be less webby and look neater to me. Hen is webbier and can provide the body bulk if you leave the fluff on. See some of phish's flies he posts on here. Saddles are normally long feathers in larger sizes for salt, streamer styles.
