Kirk Dietrich 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 The Surf Candy is hard to beat and easy to tie in different sizes. Do a Google search for Surf Candy. Then you have this really lifelike and wiggly imitation by Fred Hannie here on Fly Tying Forums. http://hatchesmagazine.com/blogs/Hatches/2010/10/25/hold-the-anchovies-by-fred-hannie/ Kirk
Peterjay 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2013 Not sure what you guys call glass minnows, but if they're bay anchovies or something similar, here's what I've found to be very effective. The little marabou mini-deceivers are deadly when the fish are keying on tiny bait. Also, small crystal buggers will draw a lot of strikes.
