Jax FL fishing

Recommended Posts

I am going to be out there in late April to visit my family. Anyone know what patterns will be good then for inshore salt species like reds, trout things like that. Thanks!!

According to a guide friend of mine ... bright, silver, fast ... a clouser will do just fine.

Top water might be slaying them just before and after high tide ... stripping clousers or shrimp patterns sub surface will work just before and after low tide.

Give Black Fly Outfitter a call. They will be able to give you a good idea of the current fishing conditions.

They have a full fly shop for anything you may need while you are there as well.

I live in the area. If you are fishing low tide which is when most of us fish, a black fly such as a clouser or other critter pattern will be good, make sure it has a little wieght on it to get it to the bottom. on a moving tide, cast around the oysterbars, if it warms up, try a top water during low light periods like dawn and dusk.
