sunsignarcher 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 I loved my vest but it was killing my back on all day outings. Pictured is Kifaru's claymore pouch. I used this for years worn on the front of my hunting pack. I added the optional waste belt and it has been ideal so far. You have unlimited options for mounting addition pods, pockets and pouches to the belt and pack. You can configure these things to do anything you can dream of. For you guys packing in bear country the have a new pack called the koala. Search for it on YouTube. (Those hanging straps were holding a jacket. I forgot to rebuckle them)

MikelC 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 I voted "vest", but decided to throw in my two cents after reading a few posts. For fly fishing, I use a vest with a multitude of pockets (it's a "Field and Stream") because I love the idea of being able to carry everything I need, including raincoat, water, snacks, and first aid kit. When I am spin fishing, I use a woman's purse, made of nylon, that I found at a yard sale. It is the perfect size for carrying a box of lures, and I use pin-on retractors to carry all my tools (forceps, clippers, etc.). I've had the purse for about 5 years now, and I ain't giving it up!! hahaha
