keep_lookingup 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2013 Hi All, I have been lurking here for a while and finally decided to get active. I lived in Western Colorado now for 14 years and began tying back in Austin, Texas in 1979. I have really only tied trout flies with a few bass and saltwater flies from time to time. Now days I mainly tie size 18-22 nymphs with and without bead heads. On some of the heavily fished waters I frequent the bead head seems to put them off not to mention any type of tinsel or flash. My home waters are the Frying Pan, Roaring Fork, and Gunnison rivers with the high country small streams in August. Really enjoy the forum, Doug

keep_lookingup 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2013 Dubbn, I won't be able to get out until the first of April and the first place I'm headed is Jaffe park below Aspen airport. I have had some fantastic days on that section during the first two weeks of April. I seldom fish the Pan any more, too crowded and the fish are just not that interesting for me. About the only time I go up there is if everything else is blown out.
