getholdofjoru 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Great tip. Does this work for all hackles?
Steeldrifter 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2005 Hmm never heard/thought of that, I have quite a few dries that have the wings bent over from being in the box. I'll have to give that a try.
Gopher 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2005 Good tip. And it does work on all types of hackles. I use this technique to straighten the wings on full dressed atlantics if I mess up on the initial placement of the wings. I just steam them and remarry. Works like a charm. gopher
Alex C. 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2006 I bet crushed drys would be great if you needed a cripple pattern in a pinch

Gregg A 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2006 I use a hat steamer that I use to shape my hats. It works wonderful. I'll also use it to take the coils out of new leaders when I buy them. Just give a quick run through the warm steam and pull on em a little. Straightens them right out.
