DryFlies4Life 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Nymphing I vast tatic and techniques vary depending on gear, fish, region and stream. It would be impossible to tell you what you should do with out actually knowing anything about the streams you plan to fish. However, by learning how to use a strike indicator, learning how to highstick and learning how to euro nymph you should be able to cover a wide variety of situations. There is lots of information on the Internet about these techniques, I suggest locating a few sites and learning more. You will also probably learn some other useful techniques as well. switch10 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Use the same techniques that you use nymphing any time of year. Different flies maybe.. 90% of the nymphing I do is with a strike indicator. It works very well in my area, 365 days a year.
flyrodman 0 Report post Posted March 30, 2013 During heavy flows I use heavily weighted attractors under an indicator
flytyer62 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2013 fishboone, first off all good info above best way to learn is to just go do it. Grab a bunch of different nymphs and a few indicators some shot a go too it. Just remember bring twice as many flies as you think you will need beacuse if your not on or near the bottom spring whne water temps are below 45 degrees you will not get many fish. steve
