tctrout 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2013 So, I watched Tim Cammisa's tying vid of a Black Ghost variant. I went to have a go at one myself, and didn't have any white Marabou. I did have white zonker strips, so, I came up with my own variant It's on a size 10 2xl hook. I used a strand of holographic flashabou for the rib Wavey, Loved the use of the holo flashabou for the ribbing; great variation! TC

FishDragon 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2013 Small silver oval tinsel for tag. Medium silver oval tinsel for rib Used blackfloss to build up body Large silver tinsel wrapped from head to the back and than forward to the head Black marabou for hackle Black/White guinea fowl for collar Bronze mallard for wing (2 slips on each side) Forgot to tie in a tail, would have used golden pheasant cresent . I think that is my 12th spey fly I ever tied, easy to tie for the most part but hard to make look nice. Thanks for the compliment easternfly

McRad 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2013 Its not new but I am tying them. This is simply the best trout producing fly I have ever used in my life. Lakes, rivers, streams does not matter Started tying it about 7 years ago. Gave one to a buddy to use one day and he started calling it "the gooly" after my last name Gould. since then its just been the go to fly in almost any and all situations. the gooly threw this tiny mouse together while sitting there. Piker20 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2013 Those pics are ok. Make sure you use a macro setting if your camera has one and try putting a neutral background so the camera pics out your fly.
