Crotalus 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2013 Buy el cheapo reading glasses in a 2.5x or 3.0x. Much more convenient than a magnifying glass.
Chase Creek 0 Report post Posted April 1, 2013 I agree with Joe. I found the problem with magnifying glasses is they mess up my depth perception. A pair of strong drug-store reading glasses will cost you $15-20, and eliminate that problem, at least for me. I have a pair of +3.25 and +4.
Bruce Derington 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 Can't recommend a magnifying glass, BUT GET A COVER for it, there have been several fires caused by unprotected glasses and sun through windows
cassady 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 It's a bit more of an expensive option, but I have a ring light with a large magnifier at the center that is great. I think they're made for drafting, and have a long gooseneck, so you can move them in and out when you need them. Brightening up helps as much as magnification, for me at least. cass
DrVette 0 Report post Posted April 2, 2013 I also use a Speedway lamp with magnifying glass in the middle. The trueth is that is does mess with depth perception some on me as well...but my right eye is basicly dead from glaucoma so i always thought that was my personal problem. Reading about others having that problem makes me wonder now. But with-out it there are many things in tying i just wouldn't be able to do with-out that big glass.
